The Kingborough
Squash Club

The Club is based at the Kingborough Sports Centre
near central Kingston.
It has its own clubrooms and provides
casual (walk-in games), social games, coaching, training as well as mixed pennant competitions. This is enjoyment focussed , welcoming and incusive for all sectors of society.

The Club has been in existence for nearly 40 years.

A Friendly Club In The Heart Of Kingston

As well as coaching, casual and social squash, the Club runs the popular Hobart Mixed Pennant which is a team-based competition for all types of people and all levels of ability. Matches are played in the evening at one venue providing a friendly and social (but competitive) atmosphere.

The Club also has teams in the wider Hobart pennants and several members play in the Australian-wide masters competitions and tournaments.

Juniors Coaching

On Monday evenings (from 5:30 pm) the Club holds coaching sessions for juniors. This is a fun session run by two Level 1 qualified coaches introducing kids to the rules and skills of squash. End of Pennant Social

At the end of each pennant (i.e. twice a year), there’s a relaxed social event financially supported by the Club. Star attractions are the Club’s own Roy and HG who whip up the crowd and present some dubious awards and prizes.

Frequently Asked Questions

NO - The Club supports members at all levels of fitness and ability. Matches are arranged between equally matched opponents, and you can play on a casual and social basis as well as competitively.

Pennant competitions are played on one weekday evening each week over 14 weeks; currently Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm. We realise that people have family and other commitments and busy lives. If you are unavailable for any reason, there are usually fill-ins available to take your place or you can arrange with your opponent to play at a different time.

Naturally, we'd like to see you each week and hope you'll stay on for a refreshment and snack.

A squash racquet and non-marking shoes and your chosen sportswear.

If you are just having a trial to see if you like the game, then racquets can be borrowed or hired.

The Club supplies balls.

Club apparel is available for purchase.

To play pennant, the cost is $13 per week or the cheaper option of $160 for the whole pennant.

Club nights that are held between pennants are also $13 per session.

For casual games, courts can be booked through the Sports Centre on 6211 8262.

For Club members it's $17 per hour.
